This prominent horse stables exists in Tasmania’s Central Highlands Region.

Being an architect by profession as well as an artist, I’m attracted by these simple gabled roof and window forms which occur in much of my work.

But this painting is capturing the sunlight across the paddock beyond and the two figures stacking hay bales in the corrugated iron lean-to attached to the stables.

There’s a story here.

The receding line of power poles are a counterpoint that I can seldom resist in a lot of my work.

This artwork is currently being held on exhibition in the Gallery and is able to be collected at the completion of the exhibition.
