About Red Hill Gallery

Margaret Campbell-Ryder
Gallery Director | Owner | Curator
Margaret Campbell-Ryder is the Owner and Director of Red Hill Gallery and for 26 years has curated the gallery on a daily basis.
With a distinguished career spanning decades in art, fashion, and retail, Margaret stands as a luminary in Brisbane’s vibrant art scene. Championing over 120 Australian artists across a spectrum of genres, her philosophy highlights the significance of nurturing both the passion and sustainability of artists.

“At its essence, art forges a profound emotional and personal connection with the viewer. However, to ensure the artist’s success, it must also be expertly presented, marketed, and sold”.
As an active member of the Association of Women Art Dealers and Women Chiefs of Enterprises International, Margaret now has her sights firmly set on the international market. “We are committed to elevating our artists’ profiles both nationally and internationally and we are proud to bring Australian art to the global stage, showcasing the exceptional talent our country has to offer.”

The Gallery
Since 1986
Since its inception in 1986, Red Hill Gallery has operated from a distinctive historic building and has become an integral part of Brisbane’s rich historical landscape. Offering a timeless setting for art enthusiasts, the gallery features a comprehensive selection of fine artworks including realist, impressionist, and contemporary paintings, works on paper, bronze sculptures, glass, and ceramics.
The gallery takes pride in fostering relationships with a diverse stable of local and artists and focuses on exceptional marketing and promotion, excellence in sales, and maintaining mutual loyalty. It is these values which foster a successful and supportive gallery-artist relationship.
Each month, the gallery showcases curated exhibitions featuring distinguished mid and senior career artists, alongside promising new talents in the art world.
“Every submission holds the promise of discovery,
we’re very aware that the next Archibald Winner
(prestigious Australian portraiture art prize) could be just around the corner. The anticipation of what might walk through our doors keeps us inspired and excited.”
