Michel Canetti was born in Paris. After completing a Visual Arts Diploma at the Sorbonne, he then obtained a Masters Degree in Painting Renovation. He has been living in Melbourne since 1997.

Michel's creativity deals with his insight into fashion and the appeal of the female charm. His work requires a delicate balance between creativity and control, mixing together flowing rounded curves and sharp sophisticated detail. His graceful women celebrate feminine beauty and style. While his nimble brush strokes capture and develop the tempting passion of the female figure.

Having worked with some of the World's Largest Fashion Houses and Magazines, Michel is acclaimed as one of Frances leading fashion illustrators. Michel still stays true to the one thing that is his inspiration, the playful moments in high fashion glamour. He has produced editorial illustrations for Elle and Vogue in France, as well as other fashion magazines in Europe.


Michel Canetti’s illustrations have smooth, flowing lines and curves that epitomise Parisian chic; stylish silhouettes that celebrate line and movement revelling in the female form. The work is polished and classic, yet modern and sassy. Similar to the traditional art of calligraphy, his work requires a delicate balance between creativity and control: flowing, rounded curves and sharp, sophisticated detail- Painting in Watercolour and gauche allows Canetti to execute the spontaneous disciplined lines to show the movement of the body and fabrics.

His works have been exhibited in private galleries around the world- including France, Germany, Austria and Australia. His sensual illustrations have appeared in magazines and advertisements across Europe and the United States.


Michel canetti has illutrated for clients such as Guerlain, Chanel, Estee Lauder and L'Oreal, and he has also done a wide range of works for such businesses as Renault, Louis Vuitton, Air France, Lux, Neiman Marcus, Polygram, SAS Airlines, Credit Lyonnais, Waterman, Perrier, Hudson and De Beers.
