Kayo spends many labour intensive hours engraving the delicate pieces with diamond-tipped tools in a technique that harks back to ancient Roman and Egyptian cultures.
"Glass is such a beautiful material and it's such a hard material as well. You need a lot of technique to work with it. The engraving is very time-consuming. It depends on the size, but one piece takes anywhere from two to three hours, up to weeks - there are not a lot of artists doing this artwork these days."
Quite simply all Kayo wants is for people to look at them and say "I love that - I want it" they can take it home and be happy - something to put a smile on your face.
