Helen Taylor completed a Bachelor of Design, Ceramics, at the University of South Australia in 1990, and has since worked full-time as a potter. In her production range she uses simple forms such as slab platters and bold colours to paint floral themes directly on the unfired surface, which she finishes with a transparent glaze. Her exhibition pieces are more complex constructions of thrown (often double-walled) and hand built components, glazed in blue/green colours influenced by the marine environment. She signs her works with her full name. She has an entry in the 1996 potters' directory and is also the subject of several journal articles.
