Dean Reilly’s work often attracts attention for its bright colour and playful subject matter. His extensive travel experience overseas has contributed to his style with his works highly regarded for their design and versatility. Whether they are delicate poetic paintings painted in oil, large scale abstracts painted in acrylic or an outrageous sculpture in mixed media, or indeed all three combined, Dean’s work has an enduring presence. He continues to delight and inspire collectors around the world with his unique approach to painting. He comments that, “At the moment I like my art to be wild, ludicrous and raucous. I think my art needs to be really surprising. Whether or not it pertains to one particular theory or whether it has a message, it must be astonishing and inspiring on some level. It must incite reaction.”
Dean has been a finalist in both the Archibald Prize and Doug Moran Portrait Prize.
