Journey of The Alchemist

This body of work reflects on the alchemist in all of us.

The power to transform things for the better, real or imagined, led to figurative meanings for alchemy and alchemist. Instead of transforming metal into gold the alchemist of today works on transforming human conditions for the better.

The idea that emerges from this exhibition is based on the quote by Paulo Coelho; “No matter what he does, every person on earth plays a central role in the history of the world. And normally he doesn’t know it. When we strive to become better than everything around us becomes better too.”

The figure in each piece of my art, is a metaphor for each of us. This is our journey of personal transformation. We all play an integral part to the whole scheme of life.

These paintings reflect on each of our individual responsibility to identify our own personal legend and develop that specific potential that is contained within by making a positive contribution to the “Soul of the World”.

The transformation that can be seen in the work of each individual (architects, chefs, psychologists, teachers, absolutely everyone) in constantly creating and transforming spaces, minds and lives for the better is the work of each of us. All individuals should live in the singular pursuit of their individual dreams.

Each of us should turn our pain into passion (metal into gold), anxiety and fear into creativity and let go of fear.  A life without a cause is a life without effect.

The journey is about understanding that obstacles are only obstacles – not blockades. To keep persevering and realising that your struggles are strengthening you to become good at something that goes beyond yourself.  When each individual is able to take a hopeless situation by alchemizing their own attitude the momentum of persistence allows for constructive change.

“The world is changed by your example, not by your opinion.” Paulo Coelho

Enjoy being the alchemist in your journey.
