Nev Logan is an Australian artist who was born in Brisbane, Queensland, but grew up in Gatton in the Lockyer Valley, where he received an early training in Perspective Drawing during his High School years. This training was reinforced during the Electrical Engineering course which he completed at the University of Queensland with first class honours and a University Medal in 1956.

After a career as an Electrical Engineer, Nev took early retirement in 1987 and began to concentrate on his painting which he had taken up a few years before his retirement. He initially tried all media, but was converted to watercolour after attending a course in England with English watercolourist Ron Ranson. He has been painting in watercolours ever since.

Nev has had no formal art education but has studied under many well-known Australian watercolourists, in particular David Taylor and Alvaro Castagnet. Although Nev paints most subjects, he concentrates mainly on buildings and boats. Street scenes, Townscapes and Harbour scenes are amongst his favourite subjects and his early training in perspective drawing is a great help with these subjects. Nev loves to travel and this is reflected in many of his paintings which feature overseas subjects.

Nev was a vice president of the Watercolour Society of Queensland, and is a past President and Treasurer of this Society. He is also President of the Queensland Art Collective, and is a member of the Bryan Memorial Gallery in Jeffersonville in the USA. His work may be seen in Brisbane at the Red Hill Gallery and in regular exhibitions with the Queensland Art Collective and the Watercolour Society; in Victoria at the Convent Gallery in Daylesford; as well as in three galleries in the USA in Jeffersonville, Vermont. He also exhibited for a number of years at a gallery in Rockport Massachusetts, until its closure.
