Learn more about Anni Washington

Anni Washington attended her first art class in 1985 in Brisbane. It was a short course in watercolour painting and she became ‘hooked’ on the ‘spontaneity’ and excitement of this magic medium. Her fascination grew when she found it the perfect medium to portray the light and atmosphere of the ever changing Australian landscape as it drifts from one season to the next.

A feature of her landscapes are wonderful skies – clouds building into thunderheads from the east, incredible afternoon light as the dying sun paints the landscape with a rosy glow. Annie also loves the old and weathered texture of the farmer’s history with the land. Old sheds, dairies and even what the visitor may find ‘around the back of the shed’ or ‘out on the veranda of the old country home.’
