The Pink Poodle Motel opened its doors on Boxing Day 1967.
One of the owners, Billie Woods, had visited a coffee shop in the USA called the Pink Poodle and she loved the name so much it became the name for their new motel. The hotel was demolished in 2004 but the heritage listed sign is still close to its original location.
