Pink Pandanus
acrylic on canvas
92cm x 121cm
Ref. 53411
Trying a more freeform approach to painting, I drew over another painting of Grass trees and started again. I’ve painted the Pandanus (screw pine trees) of Straddie many times. I like the architectural form of the trees: the texture of their bark that shows hundreds of concentric rings as they grow and the strong spiralling formation of their leaves. They have been under attack from a pest that has killed a large percentage of the trees on the coast and the Islands.
