Centenary Pool, designed by James Birrell, opened in 1959. It holds a special place in the hearts of Brisbanites for carnivals, swimming lessons, squad, water aerobics or just to cool off. It’s a favourite subject of mine - I love its unique design and the sinuous sixties curves of the building.
