David Hinchliffe has had more than 60 solo exhibitions in locations all over the world. Described by the late James Gleeson as having an “exceptional talent,” he has emerged from work in the public domain to return with renewed passion to his career as a painter. Exceptionally talented with an incredible international following, his paintings offer a depiction that goes beyond a literal translation of the world around us. Responding mainly to the subtlety of light in architecture and the urban environment his artwork shows us the energy of New York City, the chaos of Havana, the romance of Paris, together with the architecture of London and iconic Brisbane landmarks.
